Today we finished our time with our Royal Explorers. Our days have been full of field trips, sunny days, laughter, and lots of good food. To celebrate our time together, we finished our science camp by being outdoors.
In the morning, we kayaked down the Holston River with a grand total of 80 people throughout the entire day. The sun was hot, but our explorers had the opportunity to experience something that was new to some. Thank you to Weldon Davis for helping guide our campers down the river. We then had Chickfila for lunch at Holston River Park which was the best lunch to end on. Our campers played soccer, ran around, talked with one another, and completed a water relay. Later in the afternoon, we had the opportunity to go on a boat road on the Star of Knoxville. We finished our time together at a banquet at Laurel Church of Christ where we celebrated the work and time we had with our campers.
Thank you to everyone who prayed, supported, and had a part in this camp. Special thanks to our directors, Nikki Votaw, Jason Mead, Sarah Cathey, and Kenny Woodhull. I know there were many hands that went into creating such a memorable experience for our campers, and your work does not go unseen.
Thank you for keeping up with our daily reports. We have been blessed to partner with Emerald Youth and get to learn alongside these awesome middle schoolers!
