The Royal Explorers Summer Science Camp partners with Emerald Youth Foundation for a two-week science and history adventure day camp. This hands-on experience for city 7th and 8th graders reveals the exciting possibility of a career in science. Students participate in daily science experiments and local field trips. These trips include exploring Kyker Farm, surveying Ijams Nature Center, learning about the Knoxville Utility Board, touring the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, visiting the University of Tennessee, kayaking the French Broad River and a closing banquet.

Here’s what the Royal Explorer students did last summer!

“Since I was a baby, I have been wanting to be destined to play in the NBA, but I found out there was going to be a one in a million chance I would make it. So, I need to have a backup plan. My second favorite thing to do is science.”
